Sharpening steels are used to sharpen your knife blade to restore its edge. With continued use, every knife will need to be re-sharpened at some point and time. This can be accomplished by using a Dexter's knife sharpener (sharpening steel) which actually removes steel from the blade and restores your knife to its super-sharp feather edge. Dexter-Russell (07343) 12" Sharpening Steel is made of a stain-free, high-carbon steel with special hardening process. The handle is designed with a course, black polypropylene with a swivel wring at the end.
